| Wordcorr was developed
at the University
of Hawaii in collaboration with the Summer Institute of Linguistics and DataHouse, Inc., a
Honolulu software development house.
The initial funding came from the
Linguistics Program and the Information Technology Research Program
of the National Science Foundation,
with Joseph E. Grimes as Principal Investigator, assisted by Burgel
Rosa Maria Faehndrich and Christine M. Hansen.
The University of Hawaii is a
research and training center for historical-comparative
linguistics, specializing in languages of Asia and the Pacific. Its
research capabilities have been enhanced by computational tools
developed in the Department of Linguistics. One of these is
Wordcorr.
Wordcorr is free OSI Certified Open
